MEDIA RELEASE
1 May 2022
According to astronomical calculations, the crescent for the month of Syawal did not appear this evening after sunset as it had set earlier. This signifies that tomorrow will be the end of 30 days of Ramadan.
As such, I am pleased to announce that the first day of Syawal or Hari Raya Aidilfitri for year 1443H falls on Tuesday, 3 May 2022.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Muslims in Singapore “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”. I seek your forgiveness for any shortcomings. May Allah s.w.t. accept all our good deeds throughout Ramadan, and always protect our Muslim community in Singapore. I urge everyone to continue taking safety precautions as we celebrate Hari Raya.
