Community leaders, friends and partners of Muis

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Muis’ Work Plan Seminar 2022 at HomeTeamNS Khatib.

Last December, Muis concluded our 6th Three Year Plan or 6M3YP. With the support of the community, asatizah, institutions and key partners, we have been able to rollout various initiatives along four strategic thrusts, namely, to strengthen social cohesion, rally support to the under-served in the community, strengthen the support and development of asatizah, and to strengthen our religious institutions. I invite you to view the 2021 report card on the Muis website to learn more about Muis’ progress in the past year.

Muis is now embarking on our 7th Three-Year Plan or 7M3YP which seeks to prepare Muis, and the Singapore Muslim Community to seize new opportunities post-pandemic and navigate future challenges.

Much of our 6M3YP work, especially projects with long term deliverables such as the recommendations by the Committee on Future Asatizah or COFA will continue to be pursued, scaled up and enhanced in the coming years.

Muis is also locking in the big gains from the accelerated transformation and digitalisation efforts in response to COVID 19.

More importantly, Muis will continue to deepen the existing collaborations and efforts while building new partnerships to advance the support for our community and the religious sector.

By now, many of us are familiar that our operating landscape is ever-changing. We must constantly reinvent ourselves and adapt, in order to thrive.

Transformation is an unending task that requires planning, persistence and perseverance. The socio - religious challenges and issues impacting our community are also increasingly complex and multi-faceted.

To effect meaningful change, Muis needs the continued support, talent and expertise from other agencies, stakeholders and key community groups.

Several of you would have already been acquainted with our 7M3YP plans, as part of Muis pre - Work Plan Seminar engagements. On behalf of Muis, I thank you for your contributions and inputs to chart the forward plans. Today, we hope to advance that conversation. It is a platform to explore new ideas, identify promising approaches, strengthen our partnerships, and develop new ones.

A key highlight of this seminar will be the Work Plan Session with a panel of Muis’ leaders. During this session, you will learn more about the 7M3YP strategic thrusts and key initiatives. We also look forward to hearing your views, insights and ideas on how best we can support one another in building our shared future.

Ladies and gentlemen, as leaders and stewards of our institutions and sectors, our community has high expectations of us, and rightfully so. I am grateful to have a dedicated team of officers at Muis and supportive partners such as yourselves, working together to uphold the community’s trust and preserving our social cohesion.

With an open heart and steady mind, I hope you will continue to journey with Muis to drive positive change and build a future we are proud of.

Thank you very much and have a good session with us, at this seminar.

Wabillahi-Taufiq Walhidayah Wassalamualaikum Wr. Wb.
