Additional consideration - prior to applying
Child has special educational needs
If you feel that your child has special education needs, you are recommended to apply to mainstream or special education (SPED) school. There are also private centres such as My Inspiring Journey (MIJ) Special Education Hub which allow your child to continue to carry out their religious rituals such as prayers.
Child is not assessed to be not ready or unsuitable for P1 (deferment cases)
If you feel that your child may not be ready for formal schooling due to their medical conditions, special educational needs, delayed or slower progression or other circumstances, you can apply to defer their commencement of P1 by 1 year. Your application must be supported by a qualified health professional.
You will need to apply for a deferment between January and September 1 year before your child is due to start P1. If your child is due to start P1 in 2023, you will have to apply for a deferment between January and September 2022 with MOE.
Child is an International Student
Student will need to provide a local address during application. Your child will need to apply for Student’s Pass with ICA once your child has been offered a place in the madrasah. Your child’s enrolment is contingent on the approval of your child’s Student’s Pass by ICA. Your child will need to renew his/her Student’s Pass before it expires.
