Statement on MUIS officer charged

1. MUIS is aware of a criminal charge which has been filed against one of its officers, who served in the mosque sector.

2. MUIS uncovered the case in 2019 and immediately carried out a comprehensive internal investigation. It then referred the case to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) and has been rendering full assistance to the authorities.

3. The officer is no longer serving in the mosque and has been suspended pending the outcome of the criminal case. MUIS places the highest emphasis on governance and integrity for all its officers. We will not comment further in due respect for the full process of the law.
