International Conference on Communities of Success – Contributing Citizens, Dynamic Institutions
In the first International Conference on Communities of Success (ICCOS) in 2022, we have started working towards building a successful Muslim community where Muslims take an active part in building our nation while also working to make our community and national institutions stronger. The conference aimed to show how Muslim in minority settings can be a great example for our society, guided by Islamic principles and lessons from its history, while also navigating the increasingly complex issues of today.
ICCOS 2022 discussed how contextualised religious guidance and progressive religious leadership can empower Muslims to live as contributing citizens in diverse societies, and how government agencies and Muslim communities can work together to build strong institutions that contribute to the development of successful communities embodying good Character, Competency and Citizenry (3Cs). The conference underlined the importance of partnerships among religious, community and state leaders in supporting Muslim minority communities to thrive in their respective societies.
